Great news—CHEST 2021 is on and in person, October 17-20! Join the Respiratory Care NetWork as we celebrate getting together again!
The Respiratory Care NetWork Steering Committee is the leader of our NetWork and the conduit through which our members communicate with the Council of NetWorks, and thus, to the Board of Regents and the President of CHEST. The Respiratory Care NetWork takes great pride in having one of the most, if not the most, diverse steering committee of CHEST. There are 22 NetWorks at CHEST, and numerous nonphysicians are serving on the steering committees—eight of which are on the Respiratory Care NetWork Steering Committee, where there is equal representation of males and females.
In the last steering committee election cycle, we had more than 10 nominees for only three positions. Our Vice-Chair, De De Gardner, RRT, DrPH, FCCP, will represent our NetWork on the Council of NetWorks as a nonphysician member next year. CHEST is truly accomplishing its goal to be the source of excellent quality education for all the disciplines of pulmonary medicine.

Lori Tinkler, MBA Chief Executive Officer at National Board for Respiratory Care Ms. Tinkler is a truly rare member of CHEST, as she is neither a clinician nor a scientist. Yet, Lori is extremely well-known in the field of respiratory care and to the leadership of CHEST. She has 30+ years of experience with the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. (NBRC) and was named CEO in January 2018. As CEO, Lori oversees the operation of the NBRC executive office and is the primary liaison to the Board of Trustees and its committees. She focuses on the strategy and vision of the organization to help further the respiratory care profession. As part of her duties, Lori has fostered an increasingly growing level of cooperation between the respiratory care field and the original sponsoring organizations of the NBRC. Lori brings a unique and most welcome perspective to our steering committee.
